Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy(CBAL) is a registered non-profit charitable society. CBAL supports the development of healthy learning communities throughout the Columbia Basin. Our goal is that each member of our community will have the basic skills necessary for lifelong learning. All programs are free of charge.
Literacy includes the reading, writing, speaking, listening, thinking and numeracy skills we need at home, at work, and in our daily lives.
In addition to programs and services for adults and school aged children, CBAL partners with other community groups and organizations to provide programs for families with children birth to six years.
CBAL's purpose is to promote literacy and lifelong learning throughout the Columbia
Basin and Boundary by educating the public about the importance of literacy and by supporting local community actions related to literacy.
