About Lake Windermere Ambassadors Society:

The Lake Windermere Ambassadors are a group of committed citizens whose mandate is the ongoing monitoring, stewardship, and protection of Lake Windermere, British Columbia. The Ambassadors have a vision of an ecologically healthy Lake Windermere with balanced management approaches that support recreation and traditional uses, high fish and wildlife values, and economic prosperity in the region.

Our Mission:

The purposes of the Society are: (a) To organize or participate in environmental projects, such as litter clean-ups, designed to preserve and protect flora, fauna, wetlands, lakes, rivers, and other bodies of water in the Lake Windermere watershed and their environment, with the purpose of improving flora, fauna and water quality and quantity in the Lake Windermere watershed. (b) To advance education and increase the public’s understanding and stewardship of Lake Windermere watershed and their importance by collecting and analyzing scientific data and publicly disseminating the results of such research. (c) To advance education by developing and delivering workshops, forums, and guiding tours to the public relating to the protection of preservation of the Lake Windermere watershed.

Volunteer with us! - Board of Directors - Shoreline cleanups - Lake and stream monitoring - Fish and waterfowl monitoring - Office and admin help (entering memberships, updating databases etc.)
